A special one day exhibition featuring original artwork by top Cuban artists will be staged in Manchester on Friday 4th May from 12 midday. It will also include a new touring exhibition of art by two of the Miami 5 - Antonio Guerrero and Gerardo Hernández. The exhibition will be at the Anthony Burgess Centre (IABF), 3 Cambridge Street, M1 5BY.The Cuban artists whose works will be for sale are Eduardo Roca Salazar (Choco), Cuba’s foremost engraver, and the artistic duo Liudmila Ivella Velasco and Nelson Ramírez de Arellano. These works are part of the larger exhibition being staged in London and Glasgow. There is free entry to the exhibition.

At 7pm a public meeting will be held at the Centre. Both the exhibition and the meeting are associated with Beyond the Frame. Speakers will include Tonito Guerrero and Rosa Coca, relatives of the Miami Five, together with Cuban artists Lesbia Vent Dumois and Gustavo Díaz Sosa. Lesbia has been Director of Fine Arts at Casa de Las Americas in Havana. Gustavo’s art is currently exhibiting in Madrid. They will speak on culture in Cuba’s revolution and also on the case of the Miami Five.

Admission £5, £3 cons. including buffet reception from 6 p.m.
